The Room They Ask For Again
31/5/2026
There are guests who, before even telling me their dates, ask a different question.
"Is the room we had available?"
Because they are not really talking about a room.
They are talking about a memory.
A few days they still remember.
A morning coffee on the same balcony.
A book they finished during their holiday.
That feeling of having nowhere to rush to.
The years go by.
People change.
Some return with a child in their arms.
Others with a new dog.
Others with more stories than they had the last time they were here.
And yet, many of them ask for the same room.
The same key.
The same door.
The same balcony.
As if they want to continue from where they left off.
And that is when I realise that some rooms stop being just rooms.
They become part of a memory.
